Ambrose, I recently discovered your work as I was drawn in by your name which is one of the best there is. I also enjoy being around the very elderly although I abhor the facilities and have worked one on one to help them remain in their own home. I have learned how old the brainwashing of Westerners is and it seems to have begun in earnest with WW11. Propaganda by the FDR organization onward seems to have removed the sense of free will and integral self-knowledge in the greater population most particularly with urbanites. Unless they possess that rare trait of questioning authority they cannot be convinced that what they think they know is wrong. But when you find that rare individual in their 90’s with an authentic unmesmerized mind (with senility or no) it is extraordinary.

While the system here in Australia is vastly different, the motives and methods that you impute to the medical profession still apply.

Regarding the almost total lack of nutrition studies in Med School, I recently (over Christmas) had open heart bypass surgery, and was home two weeks later. All I had to show for the experience (besides the discomfort and mild pain) were two sheets of paper with "exercises", and nothing about my diet - surely a large component of any post-surgery treatment and recovery. I received almost no data on the causes and effects explaining my condition.

Luckily I am reasonably knowledgeable and already knew much more than I was told.

Great article!
